Rockwater Boulevard

With the development of Rockwater Boulevard, River Road -- which runs from Baring Cross Railway Bridge to Burns Park and is part of the River Trail -- is  closed to vehicular traffic and dedicated to bicyclists and pedestrians. This eliminates the need for bicyclists to share its narrow stretch with cars and creates a safer environment for bicyclists and pedestrians.

MCE has completed the construction of Rockwater Boulevard located in North Little Rock, Arkansas. This provides access to the newly constructed Riverside at Rockwater Apartments as well as future development along the north banks of the Arkansas River.

Design consists of a 38-foot curb and gutter roadway, 1,800 linear feet with two-way traffic with parking on both sides. Design incorporates an existing 12-foot diameter chimney that was used to heat greenhouses into the 1980’s. Extensive hydraulic calculations and drainage design were very important to the success of this project as existing stormwater will be re-routed to alleviate past flooding in these areas.
